Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought changes in various aspects of human life, including the lives of Muslims. The presence of AI provides various conveniences in the fields of education, work, communication, business, as well as the search and processing of religious information. However, the use of AI also causes various problems related to the truth of information, honesty, responsibility, privacy, misuse of technology, and the potential for harm. This condition shows the importance of Islamic guidelines in addressing the development of technology so that its utilization remains in accordance with the values and principles of sharia. This article aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic fiqh towards the use of AI in Muslim life and explain the principles that can be used as a basis for the utilization of the technology. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data was obtained through the search and analysis of books, scientific journals, and academic sources related to Islamic fiqh, Artificial Intelligence, Islamic ethics, and maqāṣid al-syarī'ah. The results of the study show that Islamic fiqh has relevance in providing a framework for consideration for the use of AI, especially through the principles of benefit, harm prevention, honesty, responsibility, and protection of human rights. The use of AI can basically provide benefits for the lives of Muslims as long as it is used for a good purpose and does not conflict with the principles of sharia. On the other hand, the use of AI that contains fraud, the spread of false information, plagiarism, manipulation, or actions that harm others need to be avoided. Therefore, the use of AI by Muslims needs to be accompanied by digital literacy, critical attitude, and fiqh considerations so that technological development can provide benefits without neglecting Islamic values.
