Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of character values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) materials at the eighth grade junior high school level, which includes aspects of Aqidah Akhlak, Al-Qur'an Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic Cultural History (SKI). The background of this study is based on the importance of strengthening character education in facing the moral and social challenges of students in the modern era. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a type of library research, through analysis of PAI textbooks and relevant curriculum documents. The results of the study indicate that the grade VIII PAI material substantively contains character values such as religiousness, honesty, discipline, responsibility, and tolerance. However, the integration of these values is still implicit and has not been fully implemented systematically in the learning process. Therefore, innovative and contextual pedagogical strategies are needed so that character values can be optimally internalized in students. This research is expected to contribute to the development of PAI learning that is not only oriented towards cognitive aspects, but also affective and psychomotor.
