Pandangan Guru PAI terhadap Partisipasi Muslim Tengger dalam Upacara Kasada di Lereng Bromo

This study aims to examine the views of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers on the participation of Muslims from the Tengger tribe in the tradition of throwing crops at the Kasada ceremony on the slopes of Mount Bromo. Although the Kasada ceremony is part of the religious rites of the Tengger Hindu community, the involvement of Muslims is limited to the cultural aspect, namely following the procession of throwing crops as a form of respect for ancestors and a form of social solidarity. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods in the form of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of PAI teachers who teach in the Bromo slope area and understand the socio-religious context of the local community. The results showed that PAI teachers viewed the participation as a form of acculturation that did not contradict the basic principles of Islamic teachings as long as it did not contain elements of non-Islamic beliefs. PAI teachers tend to be moderate and emphasize the importance of tolerance education, cross-cultural understanding, and dialogical religious guidance. This study confirms the strategic role of PAI teachers in fostering harmony between Islamic values and local traditions.
