Author Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

  • Language: Manuscripts can be written in either Indonesian or English.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Topics: Manuscripts should contribute to one or more of the following topics: developmental psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, Islamic psychology,  social psychology, industrial & organizational psychology, psychological measurement instruments, counseling, and psychotherapy.

Manuscripts must be submitted via the website: (https://ejournal.bamala.org/index.php/resilience/user/register). Manuscripts should be prepared according to the author guidelines and the provided template. The writing template can be downloaded here.

Manuscripts must include the following sections: Abstract (250 words), Introduction, Methods, Results & Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (Optional), and References.


Manuscript Structure

  1. TITLE AND AUTHOR(S). The maximum words of the title are 16 words. The author’s name is written without any academic degree, along with the institution affiliation, and email, below the title. If the authors are more than 3, all author’s names are written along with their affiliations and put only the email address of the first author. 
  2. AFFILIATION, Provide the name of each author's affiliation, including city and country.
  3. ABSTRACT AND KEYWORDS. Abstract , The abstract should consist of a single paragraph not exceeding 250 words and written concisely and factually, It should present the background and purpose of the research, the method of research, the result and conclusion of research. Avoid using abbreviations and citations. Abstract is written in English and Indonesian language. Keywords contains fundamental ideas or basic concepts that represent the topics researched. Include up to six keywords or phrases, sorted alphabetically and separated by semicolons (;). Use specific and relevant terms to make articles easier to find. Avoid terms that are too general or long and end the last keyword with a period.
  4. This section briefly explains the research background (phenomena, social facts, literary facts), provides a brief overview of related literature, states the originality of the research, states the research objectives and hypotheses. The introduction constitutes 15-20% of the article.
  5. This section includes research design, variable identification, research subjects, data collection techniques, research instruments (name of measuring instrument and its manufacturer, aspects measured, number of items, as well as information on validity and reliability), research procedures, and analysis techniques.
  6. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. This section consists of final data analysis, hypothesis testing, answers to research questions, and findings. Data should be presented as clearly as possible, and if necessary in the form of tables or figures, although very large tables should be avoided. Discussion involves interpretation of results (not repetition) in the context of previous research, comparison with other research and theories, and research implications. Avoid excessive references to published literature.
  7. CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTIONS. This section contains research conclusion and suggestions made based on the findings, aimed to certain parties with operational suggestions in short paragraphs.
  8. References provide literature information used in writing articles and are written alphabetically. For efficiency and clarity, avoid using more than 40 references and less than 10, consisting of 70% journal references and 30% book references. Journal references should be from the last 5 years, while book references may be older. This journal uses APA Style (American Psychological Association) format. 

Writing Structure

  1. Articles written in Indonesian or English with Times New Roman letter size 12 with spacing 1 pts on A4 paper, according to APA Style 7th.
  2. Length of articles 10-15 pages with margins up, down and sides 1 inch.
  3. Cover contains the title of the article (written in the middle with the Title Case Times New Roman-bold size 14. Name of author (without academic degree), name and address of the institution, email writer (primary author if group) and abstract, size 10.
  4. Subtitles are written in center, as sub of subtitle is written align text left, with Title case Times New Roman-bold size 12 except the liaison.
  5. Abstract is written in one paragraph, in two languages namely Indonesian and English. Abstract in English using italics letters. Maximum word of abstract are 250 words in one paragraph, font Times New Roman 10. Keywords is writen with 3-6 words.
  6. Each table or picture is given sequence number, title, according to table and image contents, and citation source if any. The source of the quotation is written below the table or picture, the Times New Roman font size of 10. Title The table is written on top of the table and the title of the image is written underneath the image.
  7. All pages including tables and references are given page number.
  8. The source of the citation in the text is written in the parentheses that mentions the author's last name, the year with the comma, and the page number if needed.

Example:

  • If the citation from a single source and author: (Miler, 2007), or (Miler, 2007, h. 27).
  • If the citation from a single source with two authors: (Peterson & Seligman, 2004).
  • If the citation from a single source with three or more authors, the first writing is written entirely (Wentzel, Caldwell, & McNamara-Barry, 2004) and subsequent quotes with et al (Wentzel et al., 2004)
  • If the citation from two different sources with the same author: (Peterson, 2004,2008), if the same year (Peterson, 2004a, 2004b).
  • If the citation from the institution: (UIN, 2010).
  1. The references is written alphabetically according to the last name (without an academic degree), both Indonesian and foreign writers. The references use reference manager like mendeley or EndNote, or at least references fitur in microsoft word.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Reviewhave been followed.
