Hubungan antara Konsep Diri dengan Career Indecision pada Mahasiswa Tingkat Akhir
Abstract
Final year students often face confusion in making career decisions after completing their education; this phenomenon is known as career indecision. This indicates uncertainty about career choices that can affect their readiness to enter the workforce. One factor related to career indecision is self-concept. This study examines the relationship between self-concept and career indecision in final-year students. The method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 40 students as respondents. The instruments used are a self-concept scale consisting of three aspects: academic, non-academic, and general self-concept, and a career indecision scale referring to Germeijs and Boeck's theory, composed of three aspects: lack of information, value problems, and uncertainty about the outcomes. Data analysis was carried out using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between self-concept and career indecision (r = 0.550, p <0.05), which means that the higher a person's self-concept, the lower the level of career indecision experienced. These findings indicate the importance of developing self-concept as a strategy to reduce uncertainty in career decision making.
