Transforming Islamic Boarding School Education Through Ma'had Aly: Harmonizing Islamic Traditions with the Needs of the Professional World

This study aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic boarding school education through Ma'had Aly in aligning Islamic traditions with the needs of the professional world, with a focus on Ma'had Aly Salafiyah Syafi'iyyah Sukorejo Situbondo. The study uses a qualitative case study approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show three main findings, namely the strengthening of turats studies which remain dominant but are increasingly contextual, the transformation of learning methods towards an academic-dialogical model, and the strengthening of academic culture through research and scientific writing. These findings confirm that the transformation of Islamic boarding schools can take place integratively without eliminating traditional identity, while simultaneously expanding the competencies of students to be more adaptive to contemporary socio-professional demands. This study recommends strengthening the academic system and institutional support so that the transformation is consistent and sustainable.
