Abstract

Public relations in managing Islamic educational institutions is an effort to build two-way communication between schools and the community. This process aims to get to know each other, understand each other, and work together with a spirit of togetherness to achieve the planned goals. This study seeks to understand public relations management in the development of educational institutions. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bondowoso, data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected purposively, including the principal, public relations staff, teachers, and students. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The validity of the data is guaranteed through source triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The study results at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bondowoso show several stages in public relations management in developing educational institutions: public relations work program planning, public relations program implementation, and public ion. 1) Public relations work program planning is carried out systematically by forming a special team responsible for public relations functions. Preparing practical strategies and cooperating with various parties also strengthen the school's credibility in the community. 2) The implementation of the public relations program is implemented through various approaches, such as socialization to the community, promotion of PPDB to schools, optimization of social media, and community service programs through "Healthy Tents.". 3) Evaluation of the public relations program is carried out periodically through internal meetings and discussions with parents to assess the effectiveness of the program that has been running and identify aspects that need to be improved. This evaluation will be an integral part of improving public relations strategy in the future.
