PRINCIPAL'S STRATEGY FOR IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF GRADUATES IN MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH

This study aims to understand the principal's strategy for improving the quality of graduates at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Miftahul Ulum Pancoran Bondowoso.
The approach used in this study is qualitative, with data collection techniques that include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research informants included the principal, teachers with more than five years of experience, and students with diverse academic backgrounds and learning motivations. The data obtained were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive data analysis model, which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Data validity is guaranteed through source triangulation to ensure the validity and reliability of the information obtained.
The study results indicate that the principal of MI, Miftahul Ulum Pancoran Bondowoso, implements various strategic steps to improve the quality of graduates. These steps include compiling and evaluating school programs by the vision and mission, involving teachers, parents, and students in decision-making, and supporting learning innovation. The principal also focuses on improving teacher competence through training and performance evaluation. In addition, good communication between the principal, teachers, and students is essential in resolving discipline problems wisely. The principal strives to improve student achievement through guidance programs and remedial and extracurricular activities. Through this approach, the principal seeks to create graduates who excel academically and have character, ready to face challenges in the real world.
